Armory Show 2014

These are images from this year’s Armory show, an annual show on the 92/94th pier on the west side of NY. A variety of mediums were on display during the show. Below are images of work by Dan Flavin and Iván Navarro, just a few of the light-based pieces that we managed capture throughout the 208,000 sqare foot show.

The Armory Show is an annual presentation of art works across all genres presented by the various galleries that represent them. Galleries from across the world display works in the show, continuing the tradition of the 1913-originated event of showcasing artwork.

UVA – Momentum Installation

The latest installation by United Visual Artists has premiered at Barbican Center in London last week.  The piece features a series of lights that act like pendulums, which swing to create patterns as the speed of each pendulum changes.

Each gliding arm also carries with it a tone, turning the curved gallery of the Barbican into a eerie cave of light and sound. The choreography of the swinging pendulums affect your perception of time and blur the boundaries between synthesis and organic movement, themes the creators of Momentum are continually exploring in their body of work.
